Todo gamer que já deu uma volta em Forza ou Gran Turismo já imaginou como seria fazer o mesmo na pista de verdade. A Sympatico.ca Autos do Canadá deu ao piloto Brian Makse a chance de comparar os games com a pista mais rigorosa do mundo, na versão real.
O desafio: Será que eu consigo aprender a andar na famosa Nürburgring usando apenas um Xbox, depois voar para a Alemanha, pegar um Porsche de US$ 100.000 e encarar a pista mais traiçoeira do mundo para tentar bater meus tempos de volta virtuais? Minha reação foi impublicável.
É o tipo de coisa com a qual apenas se sonha.
Um pouco de contexto: já corri em diversas das pistas mais exigente da América do Norte, como Mosport e Road America. Além disso, usei simuladores para aprender com sucesso o traçado de Laguna Seca (onde venci uma prova) e Road Atlanta (na qual era o carro mais rápido da categoria), então tentar aprender mais uma pista com uma ajudinha da Microsoft não era nenhuma novidade.
A pista original de Nürburgring, cujo nome vem da cidade ao lado de Nürburg, foi construída na década de 1920 para demonstrar o talento de pilotagem e engenharia dos alemães. Foi construída em volta de um castelo medieval no coração das montanhas Eifel. A pista está aberta ao público mediante o pagamento de uma pequena entrada, uma tradição que continua até hoje. Durante boa parte da década de 1960, o Grande Prêmio da Alemanha de Fórmula 1 era realizado em Nordschleife, até ser considerada perigosa demais pelos pilotos da época.
Mesmo depois de vencer provas por lá, Sir Jackie Stewart deu à pista o apelido de “The Green Hell”, o Inferno Verde.
Hoje, as instalações de Nürburgring envolvem o Nordschleife, o circuito do GP de Nürburgring (lar do GP alemão de F1 em 2011), hotéis, um centro de visitantes, um museu, lojas de presentes e até uma lanchonete da Subway.
O que chama a atenção em Nordschleife é sua longa extensão, com 20,8 quilômetros, enquanto um circuito típico tem cerca de um quarto desta distância. A maioria das pistas tem uma dúzia de curvas, mas o Nordschleife tem mais de dez vezes isso – entre 150 e 170, sendo que o número real é objeto de discussão entre os aficionados por ‘Ring. Com tantas curvas diferentes, os fabricantes de carros usam a pista como um lugar de testes para desenvolver freios, pneus e componentes da suspensão. Alguns fabricantes (incluindo Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Ferrari, Chevrolet e outras) até mesmo se gabam dos tempos de volta de seus veículos no circuito como uma marca do desempenho de seus carros.
Insanidade virtual
Vamos por partes: eu tinha que montar um simulador para ‘Ring. Escolhi o famoso jogo Forza Motorsport 3 para Xbox, o volante sem fio do Xbox 360 e para o desgosto de minha esposa, um dos melhores assentos para simuladores do mercado, o Obutto. Tudo isso consumiu um precioso espaço na sala durante algumas semanas.
Uma das melhores características de Forza 3 é sua gama de carros, e já que eu sabia que iria pilotar um Porsche 911 Carrera S na Alemanha, consegui encontrar um carro no jogo que era razoavelmente parecido, o GT3.
Ouvi o piloto norte-americano Boris Said dizer que um piloto experiente precisa de 50 voltas para aprender o circuito alemão. Chegou a hora de calibrar minha experiência na tela. A melhor parte de um simulador é que você pode atacar a pista sem se preocupar com a segurança, além de estar sempre a um pause de distância do banheiro para emergências. Durante as minhas primeiras voltas, errei vários pontos de frenagem, me enturmei com muros e basicamente deixei um rastro de destruição desnecessário em meu GT3 pixelado.
Depois das barbeiragens iniciais, comecei a levar a coisa a sério e tentei aprender as sequências básicas de curvas e até mesmo coloquei um capacete para simular o nível de concentração necessário para a pista. Demorei dez voltas até que as curvas começaram a parecer familiares, e mesmo assim, meu cérebro pregava peças. Quando uma curva parecia familiar, já me preparava no Porsche virtual, só para ser surpreendido novamente quando a curva era para a direita ao invés de para a esquerda. Depois de 30 voltas (com cerca de nove minutos cada), meu cérebro começava a encaixar as curvas em sequências, mas não em voltas completas. Terminei marcando um tempo de volta de 8min30s, mas de forma alguma me considerava um expert em Nürburgring. Infelizmente já era hora de pegar o avião para Stuttgart.
Em terras alemãs
Visitar o escritório da Porsche ao lado da fábrica em Zuffenhausen nos arredores de Stuttgart é praticamente uma experiência religiosa para os fanáticos pela marca – e lá estava eu pegando as chaves de um 911 novinho. “Meu” Carrera S tinha um motor boxer de seis cilindros com 3,8 litros e 385 cavalos de potência além do meu recurso favorito, a transmissão automatizada de embreagem dupla Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetribe (PDK). A pintura amarela do carro parecia uma maneira educada de pedir aos outros motoristas para que saíssem do caminho pela Autobahn.
Ao chegar em Nordschleife, as estradas que cercam a pista cortam uma densa floresta. Próximo à cidade de Nürburg, o circuito sai de forma sedutora por entre as árvores. Meu primeiro contato visual com o famoso asfalto batizado por grafiteiros já faz meu coração bater um pouco mais rápido…
A presença de carros de corrida está por toda a parte em Nürburg. A cultura e negócios giram ao redor do histórico circuito. A BMW está há anos na cidade com seu centro de testes (onde flagrei a mula de testes da próxima geração do M5) e, mais recentemente, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Nissan e General Motors estabeleceram suas próprias bases de operação no parque industrial da cidade. Até mesmo o estacionamento próximo da entrada do parque é um paraíso para os fanáticos por carro. No dia em que estive lá, estava repleta de inúmeros Porsche 911 GT3s, uma frota de modelos Jaguar R acompanhados de engenheiros e um Corvette Z06 solitário.
O Inferno Verde
A maneira mais fácil de correr em Nordschleife é durante as Touristenfahrten (voltas para turistas). Tudo o que você precisa é um Ring Card para cada volta que você pretende dar. Eles podem ser comprados no centro de visitação ou em qualquer uma das máquinas de venda ao redor da pista, e custam 24 Euros cada. Diferente dos track days na América do Norte, não há uma inspeção de segurança obrigatória e o uso de capacete fica a critério do piloto.
Se você já conhece o Nordschleife, a entrada (e saída) para o Touristenfahrten fica no meio do retão da pista. Infelizmente, isso significa que você não pode rasgar a reta a 300 km/h, nem mesmo fazer voltas consecutivas. Mesmo assim, na hora combinada, eu entro no Carrera S e me posiciono na fila. Enquanto a fila diminui, eu pego meu capacete e começo a sentir o frio tomando a espinha.
Será que eu realmente estava preparado para andar com um carro de seis dígitos no que provavelmente é a pista mais perigosa e difícil no mundo? Eu não ficava ansioso desse jeito desde a autoescola.
Com uma dose inteira no acelerador, o 911 rugiu pelas primeiras curvas. Elas foram as mais fáceis de lembrar das horas gastas no Forza 3 em casa, mas a primeira volta simplesmente te arrasa. Esqueça de se concentrar em seu traçado. Esta é a pista com a qual você sonhou há anos.
O Inferno Verde mesmo, Sir Jackie. A pista é cercada nos dois lados com árvores altas e exuberantes. Fiquei surpreso com a pequena área de escape existente – apenas alguns metros de grama entre a pista e o guard rail. Se você atingi-lo, Nürburgring espera que você pague pelo conserto. Assim como a Porsche, caso eu acrescente algum novo detalhe visual em seu 911 amarelo.
Alguns quilômetros depois, sou ultrapassado por um sedã guiado de forma experiente, por um piloto que claramente conhece os caminhos de Nordschleife. Eu decido segui-lo da melhor forma possível e o esforço é recompensado. As curvas começam a se encaixar e meu traçado ganha contornos próximos ao que se chama de “correto”.
Perceber detalhes familiares ao redor da pista foi surreal. Pelo que parece, no Forza 3, a experiência de Nordschleife é reproduzida de forma fiel. Você repara nos prédios da cidade de Adenau, por exemplo. O que não é reproduzido fielmente, no entanto são as mudanças de elevação e solavancos. As irregularidades no meio da curva acabam com o equilíbrio do carro quando se está no limite e a famosa curva do carrossel parece feita de diferentes pedaços de concreto, cada um com sua própria altura. Minha coluna e estômago aprenderam a lição.
Depois de minha primeira volta, fico alguns minutos às margens da pista para tentar absorver o que acabei de fazer, mas é impossível processar tanta informação de uma só vez. Assim, volto à pista.
A segunda volta é decididamente mais fácil que a primeira. Encaixar sequências de curvas ficou mais fácil e me sinto confiante o bastante para atacar a pista em alguns setores. Visualizando meu “treinamento” no Xbox, consegui me concentrar em encaixar uma curva na outra. Partes como Flugplatz-Fuchsröhre-Adenauer-Forst e Esbach-Brünnchen-Pflanzgarten se tornaram as minhas favoritas. O Flugplatz (cuja tradução literal é “aeroporto”) é famoso por fazer os carros decolarem pouco antes de uma curva. Ainda que eu goste de um pulo, fiquei satisfeito por não estar rápido o bastante para deixar o asfalto.
Minha terceira volta foi ainda melhor. Com a ajuda de alguma familiaridade, fui mais rápido, atacando boa parte do traçado e passando carros que deveriam ser mais rápidos. Fora isso, fui absolutamente estraçalhado por alguns Porsches GT3 preparados para competição.
Com a extensão dos testes da Nissan naquele dia, as voltas para turistas ficaram abertas por apenas uma hora, e ainda que eu pudesse encaixar mais uma voltinha, com o sol se pondo e as temperaturas na pista caindo, achei sensato ouvir a voz da razão. Assim, encostei a máquina amarela no estacionamento para acalmar os ânimos – tanto o piloto quanto o Porsche precisavam disso. Consegui um tempo abaixo de 10 minutos ao redor de Nürburgring, mais de um minuto acima do tempo que havia obtido em Forza 3 – vale lembrar que o Carrera S é 50 cavalos menos potente que o GT3 das voltas virtuais.
De volta para casa
No voo de volta ao Canadá – e depois de uma boa noite de sono – era hora de refletir: pelos meus cálculos, o tempo gasto “praticando” no Xbox economizou pelo menos uma dúzia de voltas que teria de fazer só para ganhar uma familiaridade básica com Nordschleife. Se houve algo que falou em meu treino virtual, foi a incapacidade de simular os extremos dos trechos de subida e descida e o efeito de todas aquelas irregularidades no asfalto.
A coisa da qual vou me lembrar com mais saudade sobre Nordschleife é o cheiro da floresta e a forma como o sol se põe sob a faixa de asfalto. Essas coisas nenhum simulador consegue reproduzir.
Para um fã de carros esportivos e jogos de corrida, ir a Nürburgring foi como uma volta para casa. É o mais incrível playground imaginável. Você pode passar um verão inteiro rodando por Nordschleife e nunca se cansar. Vou voltar mais rápido do que você consegue dizer Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetribe.

O negócio é comprar os "similares" já existem algumas marcas disponíveis, na Sta Efigênia aqui em sampa vc encontra, variam de 500 a 800 reais. Com e sem câmbio.
Consegui no GT5 com uma Ferrari 458 Italia (original!) o tempo 7:32, somente 4 segundos mais lento que o recorde real dela!!!
Aliás, é a única coisa que tenho jogado com minha direção ultimamente é GT5 em Nurburgring.
Um dia também pretendo realizar o sonho de visitar e pilotar na pista real…

Essa pista e Le Mans, com a reta sem as chicanes, são os melhores circuitos virtuais que já corri. Logo depois vem Laguna Seca.

depois de 7 anos pilotando nessa pista (primeiro no Gran Turismo 4, PGR4, Need For Speed Shift e agora Forza 3, posso falar que já decorei a pista, mas sem duvida as mudanças de elevacoes devem dar aquele frio na barriga, pois nao tem simulador que consiga reproduzir essa pista fielmente ( nem mesmo os jogos de simulador de pc…) eu gosto tanto dessa pista que nao compro jogos de corrida que nao tenha ela.

Vale lembra que para os criticos de gamers o GT5 pelo seu tempo de produção(5 anos), não ficou tão perfeito ao ponto de fazer o Forza 3 um jogo "ultra-passado" em gráfico, isso que o jogo já tem 2 anos, e sua primeira versão foi lançada em 2005.
Quando a minha mega sena sair, vou assistir algumas corridas como as 24hs de LeMans e as 24hs de Nurbur. Óbvio que vai rolar umas voltas no circuito.
Eu decorei o inferno verde jogando F1 Challange com o Mod do FIA-GT. Depois já andava bem com o GT4 do PS2 e melhor no Forza do X-Box. Com o Opel Astra DTM fiz 7:24s
