Racing Day: diversão nublada na pista de Curitiba

Camiseta, calça jeans, tênis, capacete e chave do carro. Você não está atrasado, mas a esta altura, até a abertura do portão parece lenta. É domingo e não há muitos carros na rua, mas os poucos que estão pelo caminho insistem em fazê-lo perder preciosos segundos. Semáforos então? Aproveite para colocar uma música mais agressiva, afinal ninguém não acorda cedo, em pleno domingo nublado, apenas para dar uma volta de carro. Você está indo ao Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba – AIC! – curtir um track day.
O dia não estava com cara de bons amigos e fechou de vez uma hora antes da abertura da pista para que os Audis S3, Subarus Impreza, Mitsubishis Evo, VWs Gol/Golf e diversos outros carros engolissem o traçado do autódromo curitibano. Foram 43 inscritos durante o 1º Racing Day de 2011 organizado pela galera da RacingArt. Rafael Gobor deu algumas voltas na pista com seu Subaru Impreza “Steel Gray” calçado com pneus semi slick para atestar se outros com o mesmo tipo de calçado teriam segurança para rodar. Pneus slick em dia de chuva, nem pensar!
A chuva parou, e carros de pneus comuns e semi slick fora para a pista. O sol apareceu de vez e os pisantes de corrida resolveram fazer tempo na pista. Com fome de asfalto e após esperar por tanto tempo, os pilotos ocasionaram algumas rodadas e escapadas da pista. O apoio e a organização trabalharam bastante, mas ninguém estava ali para brincar e todo o serviço foi executado com maestria, tudo sob controle.
Os carros da preparadora G-Stage dominaram o evento e marcaram os três melhores tempos do evento, com destaque para o Subaru Impreza SW #28 do piloto Luiz Gustavo, chamada carinhosamente de Samantha (mais pra frente, apresento-a por completo) que fechou sua melhor volta em 1:37, ante 1:33 da edição anterior com pista seca e asfalto quente. Como referência, o recorde de um carro do WTCC pilotado por Augusto Farfus Jr. é 1:24, e o do Troféu Maserati 1:27. Os da Copa Clio viraram em 1:40 no máximo.
A segunda melhor volta ficou por conta de Jonas Gasparin e seu Audi S3 #31 com o tempo de 1:041:511 e a terceira colocação, foi conquistada por Gilmar.’Killer’ e seu impecável Subaru Impreza WRX #6, com o tempo de 1:43:560. Nada Mal.
O evento contaria com mais participantes se a queda das barreiras que ligam o PR a SC não tivessem desmoronado e impedido a passagem dos outros competidores.
