Ao adquirir seu VW, os clientes de alguns países europeus continentais podem escolher entre receber a unidade na concessionária, ou na própria Autostadt,, adjacente à principal fábrica da Volks, em Wolfsburg. Nesse caso, são oferecidos ingressos e serviços para o museu da companhia.
Museu é força de expressão: o complexo de arquitetura sensacional inclui pavilhões de cada marca do grupo (Bentley, Lamborghini, Skoda, Seat e Audi), pavilhões históricos, de produção e tecnologia , e é coroado pelo túnel de 700 metros entre a linha de montagem de Wolfsburg e os silos de armazenagem.
Os carros são transportados da linha de montagem para as torres em esteiras. Quando o cliente chega para retirar sua compra, pode acompanhar passo a passo o sistema que localiza o automóvel numa das torres da Autostadt, aciona um braço mecânico elétrico-hidráulico e o traz até o páteo de entrega sem que o hodômetro saia do zero.
